8-Hour Pre-Assignment Security Training Course

16-Hours Security Training
16-Hour On-the-Job Security Training Course

This course must be taken within 90 days after pre-assignment certification and it a two-day course. A written examination is given at the end of course. A passing score of 70% is required for becoming a licensed security guard. Star Security Training’s experienced instructors are fully certified by the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services.

Upon completion of the Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course and the 16 Hour. On-the-Job (OJT) Deluxe Course Package, an examination is required for successful completion of this course. We will assist you with the New York State guard application and scheduling of your Electronic Fingerprint appointment.
8-Hour Annual Re-Certification Course for License Renewal

Fire Guard Certification Preparation Course

The fire guard training course is a four-hour course that introduces to the student all of the areas of study are required in order to successfully complete the Examination for the Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard. The course includes materials related to the responsibilities of a fireguard, understanding safety procedures, signage and fire suppression systems.
The NYFD certification test is not administered during the class. You will have to report to 9 Metro Tech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201 to take the examination
